no sales taxGeorgia’s tax-free weekend is July 31 and August 1. It’s a chance for you to save money on back-to-school items. But not everything is tax-free.

Tax exemptions fall into three categories:

1. Clothing (including footwear) with a price of $100.00 or less per item. Jewelry, handbags, umbrellas, eye wear, and watches are not included.

2. Computers with a price of $1,000.00 or less per item. It includes computers, computer components, and software.

3. School supplies with a price of $20.00 or less per item.

The exemption will run from 12:01 a.m. on July 31 through midnight August 1. The state sales tax exemption applies to eligible items bought online or in stores.
